The hotels worth knowing, city by city

Three to five hotels per open city, selected for condition, location and reliability rather than price. Check live prices through the links below, or write to the hotel straight from this page: your own email app opens with the request already filled in, and the hotel answers you directly. No payment is taken on this site.

How booking works here right now

Booking.com and Expedia still do not take reservations for hotels in Syria, so hotels are booked directly: by email from this page, by phone or WhatsApp, or through a licensed operator who holds the room for you. Payment is mostly on arrival, in cash dollars; since late August 2026 foreign Visa and Mastercard cards also work at many upscale hotels in Damascus and Aleppo. Quoted rates are per room per night, indicative, and move with the season.

Syrian booking platforms such as HalaSyria, SyriaBooking and Rahal list hotels, some with online payment. They are new and have few reviews; we have not vetted them and do not earn from them, so use the caution you would with any new payment site.

Before you confirm

Ask for the rate in writing, confirm whether it includes the 10% service and tax, and whether cards are accepted that week — card terminals are being installed hotel by hotel. Several famous names still operate under old chain branding without the chain behind them; service is usually fine, but loyalty points and chain guarantees do not apply.
